Slavery

Slavery refers to a system in which individuals are owned and forced to work against their will, typically for no pay. Historically, slavery has been used as a means of exploiting vulnerable groups, such as prisoners of war, children, and those who were captured or sold by other slave traders. The practice of slavery has been prevalent throughout human history, but it reached its peak during the transatlantic slave trade, which saw millions of Africans forcibly taken from their homes and transported to the Americas to work on plantations. Although slavery has been abolished in most parts of the world, it continues to exist in some forms, such as forced labor, human trafficking, and debt bondage. Slavery is widely recognized as a violation of human rights and is prohibited under international law.
